is this HPFP?

Hey, this morning I went to start my car and it tried starting for like 20 seconds before I hit the off button and then tried to start again and it started right up. Any ideas? Also, in the morning it's been having long cranks but not during the day or anything after the engine is warmed up. I've also noticed some kind of burning smell that seems to be comming from the left front part of the car any ideas?

if you got the reduced power indication, take it to the dealer and get the pump replaced. Should be no questions asked at this point. No reason to wait around waiting for it to fail again.

It may not be this, but I'd refrain from cranking the starter motor for 20 seconds at a time; it's not really meant for that much duty, and at least on older cars the starter will begin to overheat, which could explain the smell. Just a guess, not a fact.
