285/30/18 Rear, what would you recommend for a front?

I have 18x10 rear and 18x9 front

285/30/18 will be put on the rear

What would be a good size for the front?

The rears are Yokohama AD07s

but the only front I can get for the AD07s is 225/35/38...

I can get AD08s (different, but essentially the same) for 245/40/18

would that work?

or I can get a completely different type of tire in any size, be is 245/35/18 (the size I think would be best..)

or whatever

Thanks!

245x40x18 will have a larger diameter and can give you rubbing. The diameter will also be quite different compared to a 285x30x18 (-4%) With 245x35 you are almost spot on (-0.1%) difference.

^^ Agree with Marcel b, about 245/35/18 being a good match for rolling diameter and it should not rub unless you have an agressive front offset.

However it would be good to get matching tires on all four wheels. It sounds like you already purchased the AD07 in 285/30/18..
