Rim finish on AW

After browsing through some pictures of AW cars, Ive noticed that Matte Black and darker colored rims alike have a tendency to "vanish" in pictures. The rims become less detailed in comparison to standard finishes.

Is this just something that appears in pictures?

What do you guys think is the best finish for the color?

Does Gun metal or "Hyper black" appear this way?

I personally hate black rims for that reason. You can't see the detail/design unless you're up close with enough light.

I like hyperblack, silver painted, or machined finish depending on the style. Gunmetal is a bit darker than hyperblack. Hyperblack is kind of reflective, almost like black chrome. But both aren't as bad a black in terms of "vanishing".

Matte black give AW an aggressive look. IMHO, I love the look of Matte black wheels on AW. Yes, it is a bit harder to make out the detail of the wheel, but it's all part of the look. Hyper black and gunmetal look great to, but don't look as aggressive IMO.

It's all personal preference.
