Headlight explain please?

ok I have 08 E92 335 and I am really confused about the headlight.

I know I have Xenon headlights with D1s bulbs.

whats the difference between Xenon and HID. how do I turn my headlights into HID?

I want my headlights to look like 5 series and Porsche HIDs, you know that changes color at different angels and got that real clean purple hue to it. How do I do that?

You just need to replace your stock 4300K D1S bulbs with 6000K or higher.

If I remembered correctly, HID and Xenon is the same thing. It was called Xenon because of the element of the gas in it, but HID is just another name. if you just want color difference, its the bulb temperature that matters. HID and Xenon is just brighter than the standard headlights.

HID stands for High Intensity Discharge due to the use of Xenon gas in the capsule and the different method in which it is ignited.

Just change your bulb color.

If you want that "look" you'll have to swap out your projectors and retrofit a TFX setup for the nice flickering effect. BMW projectors aren't all that great.

If you're on a budget, go with some MTEC 6k or Philips 6700k/8500k replacements.

Yep, it's the projector that produces the color flicker. 5 series projectors seem to have a bluer cutoff than the 3 series.

I miss my FX retrofit on my Accord. Those things had MAD color and lit up the road better way than my E90 does.

Ya that's what I was talking about, I love that flicker that when you see it in the rear view mirror, you just know a expensive car is coming up and not a civic with a HID kit.

Nah. I have a friend whos into civics. They get some pretty crazy projector retrofits and lenses custom fit.

I think the 7 series has a bluer look than the 5 series
