BMW e90 oem rack question
Is anyone familiar with the BMW e90 oem aero racks? I purchased the racks from someone who could not find the key which screws the racks down. It look like they are a specialty hex security screw. I was wondering if anyone knew of a resource for getting such a specialty part like this that would have come with the racks had I purchased them new. Thanks for the help.

you might be able to bring the rack to a local dealer and see if they have a way to find the key code for you. I think there are like 8 diff fitaments

when you buy the racks from the dealer, they set comes w/ a hex looking key that fits them, and that twists to the appropriate torque. you may see if a dealer will sell that to you separately

And the hex key is not a torque wrench

mine came w/ two black markings on the handle that align when you have twisted it to the recommended torque (80Nm if i remember correctly). the handle has two sections to facilitate this.
