Replacing 19" Bridgestone RFT's

I know this has been the subject of several threads already, and having been a victim of the 19" 225m cracked alloys & shocking tyre wear problems with current 19" Bridgestone RFT's, I once again need to replace my rear tyres - this time having done less than 5000 miles on the current set, despite getting the camber reset when they were fitted, and checking pressures at least every 2 weeks (which are never less than 1 or 2 psi down)

Lots of threads have advised switching to non run flats but some tyre dealers have advised me against it, citing insurance problems, need to amend suspensions, non-rft's that have fallen off wheels etc.... most of which I don't believe, however, wondered if I could get some views of owners who have made the switch or found alternative RFT's with better ride, tyre wear etc. & price.

Most of the other RFT's I've been offered seem to be on back orders anyway - between 10 days and 1-2 months, so may be forced to look elsewhere at non-RFT's.

Price ranges seem to be between £240-£320 for either non-RFT or RFT for rear size 255/30/19's, although I know some members have suggested Falken 452's, which only come in 265/30/19 sizes but are more like £140 a tyre, so much cheaper, but are they any good and does the extra 10mm make any difference?

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated as I've managed to go through 11 Bridgestone's in 24,000 miles and need to find an alternative!

I bit the bullet and upgraded to AC Schnitzer. ACS UK have a deal on for Wheels and tyres, Non RFT. This way it may cost more now, but no more crack wheel blues.

Keep pressure on Watchdog to push BMW when the programme is back on. Add you comments to their blog on the subject.
