Wider track [Pros and Cons]

Hi everyone,

recently my rear rft's decided to retire and Ps2's are going to replace them. I think the tire choice is great, my issue is with size. Should I stay with 255/35/r19 or go 275/35/r19 or maybe compromise and pick 265?.

Any kind of information would be appreciated by this novice, thanks.

I swapped from OE 18" wheels with 255/35/18 wheels to 265/30/19 wheels and noticed the increased rolling radius immediatley (on a remapped 335d) which in my opinion detracted from the drive of the car and seemed to dull the initial response of the engine. My new car will have 9" wheels (BMW Performance 313) to fit the 255/30/19 tyres so that the standard rolling radius is retained. My advise is stick with the 255.....

TireRack has great data on sizes -- rolling radius, revs/mile etc. -- under the 'specs' menu.

If I get 19" rims my plan is to go 255/30/19 rear, 235/35/19 front.

would getting 255/35 instead of 255/30 be a cause of concern? since thats the available size at the moment.

Posted info is quite helpful, thanks.
