My oil temp is never really over 245 (in the summer) even when doing testing like this. Were you doing LOTS of back-to-back pulls?

That looks like the earlier oil temp gauge. The center is 210 vs. 250 on the newer ones. His oil temp looks fine.

Try both. Or just come to our NY go kart/procede taste test meet on the 13th (see sig). There will be jb3 2.0s and v4s there. I'll even be bringing a few extra v4 units to loan out in cars for a drive. I finally drove a 2.0 car, btw.
