Rear diff Bolted or Welded???

Short of putting the car on a lift, how can we know if our rear pumpkin is welded or bolted?

Build date?
VIN?

I am considering an LSD but the cost of installing one in a welded rear diff is expensive.

you can take the rear cover off and look if you already got it in the air, or talk to harold at hp, and give him your vin number.

2007 MT chances are very good that you are bolted. Build date before late Feb 2007 and you are probably OK. As per comment above, email Harold with VIN.

usually the VIN will tell you. Just go to the BMW parts department and give them your VIN number.

I don't think 330s were ever a problem. Just post 2/2007 MTs and then some Steps later -- I forget about Steps, who wants a slushie with an LSD anyway? (jk).
