Exclamation New v4 beta (1-22) maps

HERE they are!

Today was the first non-raining day in nearly 2 weeks. So a customer and I drove to Sac Raceway's Test and tune this morning (in my stg 3 6MT and his stg 3 6AT) to re-claim our Fastest n54 record. Unfortunately, the track was closed so our plans were dashed. But the day was sunny and dry (except for a brief showing in the early afternoon) which meant that I could finally run these v4 cars hard without spinning tires.

It turns out that that the previous 1-20 maps that I posted a couple days ago weren't what I hoped they would be. Early beta testers who have been testing maps for use for several weeks made it clear that they preferred earlier versions. After some dry weather testing, I see what they mean. So I brought back the fun with these 1-22 maps. Please read the documentation carefully as the Map1/Map2 configuration is a little different than before.

If you liked the previous 1-20 map, you will love these. Especially Map2.

Cheers,
shiv

PS. A few of you guys (Mark, Dalton, Ritesh, Donald) had maps emailed to you this morning. Those maps I sent you were the standard maps. These new maps have "+" maps loaded in Map2. This means 2-3psi more boost at 6000rpm. Give Map2 a try

Great, I just finished datalog the 01-20 beta maps (rain); and thanks Shiv for revising the 01-20 map, while still good, it's not as good as the earlier versions.

Is the elevation compensation fix in this yet, because I live in Calgary where the elevation is 1,048 m (3,438 ft)??

Yes. Boost target will automatically be dropped for your altitude.

Shiv, so how does this boost target with regards to elevation work exactly? Is it dropping actual PSI to the turbo's or is just dropping the boost target #'s? Can you explain it it laymans terms? When I get v4 (saving up, will be getting in Feb with tax return ) I will be at 5000ft, what will change when I go up over the mtn passes at ~11000ft and then when I am in Vegas for mfest at 2000ft? I know what your doing is safe for the turbos/car or you wouldnt be doing it, but what in terms that I can understand is actually being done?

BTW, cant wait to get this thing...hurry up W2's!!

How does it know the elevation of position. Will it be the same feet up it states in the navigation?

The PROcede reads baro pressure from the CANbus network. And that signal comes from the baro pressure sensor. And this value changes real-time with altitude. So the PROcede nows when you are going over a mountain pass or when you drive down a valley. Basically put, the higher altitude you go, the lower absolute pressure the PROcede will target. So if you are at 5000' above sea level and your atmospheric/baro pressure is say 12.7psi instead of 14.7psi at sea level, the PROcede will drop it's absolute pressure target by 3psi so a to not overwork your turbos. Without this feature, the PROcede would ask the turbos to spin harder to make up for that missing 3psi. Which means that it will try to run 3psi more boost pressure. In some altitudes/conditions, this is possible and safe for the turbos. In others, it's not. So within the next week or so, this value will be user adjustable so you can decide whether you want the turbos to work harder or not for you altitude. But for now, it's at the most conservative configuration possible.

Excellent, thats exactly what I was looking for. LOVE it. I wouldnt want to overcook the turbos going for 14psi when Im going over the pass at 11k, there just isnt any air up there to use. Thanks for the quick reply Shiv!

Can you also have a "Auto feature" to select; to make the Procede automatically select the right target for you while driving in a certain Map?
So Map 1 can be configured for Auto and Map 2 can be user adjusted at a fix condition.

Will Map 2 on Stage 1 only difference above 6k rpm?
