GIAC Stage 2 EU Beta 94 octane Boost and timing log

Thought i would post my logs with the GIAC stage 2 EU Beta 94 octane
Car runs like a dream and never had a limp or code so far after 2 months.
Car pushes really hard on top with incredible smooth and quick shifts and response:

The high advance values are in fact the most impressive aspect of Giac tune.

IMHO the boost control is still a little bit flawed with not negligible throttle closure (actual boost off target at low revs) beside limited absolute values if compared to piggybacks.

I do not know if this is a real choice on how to tune the engine or an unavoidable limitation due to the impossibiliy to change the control logic parameters (that is not a problem at all for external ecus able to implement an additional proprietary boost management loop).

Btw a great job

Actually, the transition at 1/2 throttle through the cam change as well as the full throttle non-dip through the 4K mark is where I also see big improvements as well.

No lag, no bog during the shifts and increase is also a big advantage.

Timing looks fine. Can u add actual throttle opening to that log as well?

highest i have seen was about 16,5 psi , peak 16,9. Depends on conditions to meet torque targets.

I find some irony in this. The fact that 16+ PSI is run, with supporting modifications of course, is now commonly accepted. And I do firmly beleive that GIAC tested this well and know what they are doing. However, I do recall a recent time when one tuner said that 14.5 PSI was the most the turbos could handle and this was from "extensive testing of compressor speeds" (BS if you ask me). But that was due to limitation of hardware and now that the issue has been over come, it is fine to run higher.

Anyway, again, that looks good and a testament to GIAC's knowledge on tuning turbo vehicles.

Its going to be interesting to see how much more timing i will be able to run with meth.
My map still has a lot of timing retard that should allow me to squeeze on the same boost levels another 15 - 20 whp.

I dunno, 12 PSI and 14 degrees overall advance, I doubt you will get a tremendous amount more. But would be hapy to be prioven wrong.

Yeah I remember two years ago, when people were seeing 16 psi spikes, and the world was about to end!!! There was so many threads about the little snails being able to handle 16-17 psi!!

On the side note...I know with the Vishnu tune that 16-17 sustained psi is only with the use of meth and corresponding meth maps, and without meth it rarely goes over 15psi and its making great power at that level...

Since GIAC is precisely calibrated for those boost values, octane and mods there are no issues running those boost levels. Car runs like a beast with no oscillations or boost spikes.

I would guess 395 - 405whp without meth and 415 - 425whp with meth (but without the meth specific GIAC Stage 2+ map which is still in development)
