Stages
I have several references over time to stages of increasing the performance on your car. Near as I can tell they are 1-5. Can someone please elaborate on what each one is and what it would probably add to the performance of the car ? Thanks. Much appreciated.

different stages vary depending on the car brand and tuning company.
for instance.. for the n54: - Vishnu has stages 1-4 - giac has stages 1-2+ - burger doesn't go by stage, just a bunch of different maps and boards |

OH I was under the impression that all of the stages were kind of set ideas and that different tunes fit into different stages. Not to be confused with different stages of a particular product like Vishu stages 1-4 All of which might be considered stage 2 of an entire modification process. Am I totally confused ?

GIAC stage 2 would be comparable to Stage 3 Vishnu and Map 6/7 JB3.
BMS only uses 1 board which is the 24 OHM one, this one can be bought from their site. The 18 OHM is only for hardcore people and has to be requested directly via email from BMS. Mostly used with race gas and meth.

Everyone has a different list of supporting modes they like to optimize their tunes around.
- Mostly the first or zero stage is just the tune itself. - The next stage is usually a more aggressive tune with a popular general mod on top of that, like exhaust or intake. - The 3rd is usually a very aggressive tune with most or all the supporting mods and often race gas. Not that you won't get power from doing any of the above in any combination, but you'll get more if you put the combo together so everything supports itself to make the intended power level in a safer way. |
