Oil temp @ 230

Lately I've been seeing my oil temperature at 230 degrees. Should I be worried? What temperature should I be worried? Most of the past threads mentions 210 degrees as typical max.

Any thoughts...

Not sure where it "should" be but on mine on a day with no WOT runs and freeway stays around 230-235... if I do a couple of WOT runs specially if it gets to pass the 3rd gear, I'll see around 255 max.

Highest I have EVER had was around 255-260ish when I was going up over a 12.5k elevation pass at around 15-40 and such cause its slow as crap going up it. 235 is fine, mine is normally 230-240, if even gets that high this time of year.

230 is absolutely normal to me, after some spirit driving in the mountain for 45 mins in a sub50F morning, i saw 255F max in my car, and mine isn't even equipped with oil cooler.

240 is common in summer - thermostats dont even open on OC cars until 240.
In winter mine consistently is in the 215 range.
On the track I got to 265.

If 230 is the max then you aren't driving hard enough.

100% normal. Expect 225-250 depending on outside temperature. BTW city driving really heats these cars up with less flow over the cooling system and through the intercooler. Oil-cooled turbos really heat the oil up.

230-250 is my norm. If you have an early year 335, the mid point on the temp guage is 210. BMW changed it to 250 in the newer 335s because of all of the complaints about the car "running hot". 250 is considered normal op temp. No worries.

Fun canyon runs and PCH runs, I get her up to 265-270.. 230 is actually perfectly normal operating temperature.

230 is nothing to be worried about. Do you have an oil cooler on your car?

I've seen as high as 240-250 on mine... Now if it was higher than 250 I would start worrying...

230 is quite normal for normal driving. The oil filter housing seems to engage the oil cooler around that temp. If your seeing temps like 260+ I would get a little more concerned. Nothing a after market oil cooler cant fix

PM me, Ill give you a great price.

Dude, your worried about the oil temp at 230 degrees during winter time? Go on a drive thru the desert. Just cruising thru the desert you will hit 250 and higher gaurnteed. Even if you are babying her you will still hit 250.

THanks Guys for the responses. I wasn't sure if the number 230 was something to worry about.
