18" LM on the E90?
This question does not pertain to the OP's question, but the thread topic seems appropriate enough to ask here.
I saw that E90Post member wish1 has 18" BBS LM wheels on his E90. However, two retailers I've inquired with have told me that the smallest LM that will fit on an E90 is 19". The BBS site (can't link the specific page here) shows 18" x 8.5" (LM 124) and 18" x 9.5" (LM 125 HA) wheels as being suitable for the E90, along with three 19" sizes. Has anyone confirmed that these 18" LMs will fit? Following that, what would be the recommended wheel combination to fit the Sport Package 18" run-flat tires (225/40R18, 255/35R18)? Since the Style 162 wheels are 8" in the front and 8.5" in the rear, I'm not sure which of the LM sizes would be appropriate for the same tires. |

Alot of wheel retailers now a days are basicly Tirerack resellers.. they will only sell what tirerack sells. And for some reason tirerack is only selling the 19" version of the LMs for the E90. I have no idea why, but it may have to do with the high offset of the 18x8 for the rear of an e90. Wish1 made the rear fit with use of spacers, which you can do also, but ideally you should use the 18x9.5 rear which should fit. The question is finding a wheel retailer that imports those (because tirerack doesnt sell them, and so tirerack resellers wont either).. if you ever are seriously interested in the LMs in 18" and want the name of whels guy that may be able to import those 9.5s for you contact me and i'll let you know. But seeing that you are in cali, i'm sure there are plenty of wheel shops that may be able to get that for you ?
(btw i'm just shooting into the wind with a guess about why your wheel guy said 18s dont fit, but 18s do indeed fit) |

ok trying to keep this organized
1) No idea how they work it in terms of price, but I do know that tirerack offers prices less then typical wheel retailers and they end up using them with special contracts I beleive. I don't know much more about the technical behind the scenes details.. and again, I have no idea if your retailer does that at all. 2) 18" wheels in gernaly fit on the E90 just fine, as we all know the BMW comes standard with 17 and 18" wheels. Brakes are not too large, etc etc.. I suspect it has to do with high offset on the rear, which is more of a visual thing then anything, you can put spacers to fix that, but most wheel sellers wont recommend that, nor do I when you have the option of getting the larger rear wheel. 3) 255 tires can fit on a 9.5" wheel, its probably most ideal on a 9" wheel but it can fit on a 9.5" wheel, i believe 255 bridgestone tires are rated up to a 10" wheel. You can use a 8" or 8.5" on the front, that is your choice really.. Not much difference more of a decision based on tire size.. many trackers decide to go with the 8.5 on the front because they run larger sized tires up front (245s), something u may not be doing yourself 4) Yea Peter Lee from wheel experts is a good guy, he should be able to get you the right wheels. Maybee send him a followup email if he doesnt get back to you. 5) I dont know anyone specificaly in SD, but I will PM you with some names in your area (cali) |

weve tried it with a luff wheels 20"s but the offset is wrong so they had to custom made 20"s to fit an e90 perfect. It should be coming this week or early next week.So far this is the best replica wheels on a BBs lm, but the price is more than half of the original BBS LM with almost the same looks and quality.I think the wheels size is 20.9 and 20.10.Ill post a pix when the wheels are here.Check with DTMautowerkes.com for more info. in baldwin park ,ca

I am running the stock sport tires, 225/40/18 F and 255/35/18 R on 18x8 LMs all around. I am using 10mm spacers in the rear. Car handles great and I think looks good too.

with the 19"s on my car,i still need the spacers, but im not into spacers. So the 20"s that they custom made on LUFF wheels wont need a spacers and it will be a perfect fit.Still waiting for it to come but DTMautowerkes told me that it will be in in a week or two.Ill post some pix when it come in.
