Do I need a DICE to use an iPod?

Or can I just use an aux port? I don't have NAV, just a Business CD player. I'm ok with using the iPod to control the songs and not having a recharging dock.

You'll get better sounding from the Line Out of the iPod than the headphone jack by using something similar to this => http://www.amazon.com/FiiO-L3-Line-C...5431977&sr=1-2

The headphone jack is meant to drive low impedance headphones where as, the Line Out was design specifically for this reason, to drive high impedance AUX inputs at "line" signal level. Your sounding will be similar to the DICE unit if you use the Line Out from the iPod.

The main advantage of dice or a similar unit is that it allows you to control the ipod using your radio, i.e. using the radio buttons to change tracks, playlists, etc and displaying song, artist and other information on your head unit display. With an AUX input you will need to do all of that on the ipod itself.

I agree XMetal, but there is no real way to charge your ipod/iphone and use the line-out kit at the same time. For short car rides the line out is a great solution for quality audio without having to spring for the DICE kit. However, for long car rides I find that bluetooth+call would demolish my battery unless I was charging. I think I'm going to have to go the DICE route.

Check out Intravee before getting Dice. It's a bit more expensive but well worth it IMO.
