How many Heat Cycles?
How many heat cycles can a set of BF Goodrich R1 slicks last? I'm thinking of getting a set of used 245/40/18 for my oem 189's (non staggered). The tires have been through 4 heat cycles, is it worth it to buy them used now? I will use them mainly for autocross, how many more auto'xing events will i last with these?
Here are some pics of the tread remaining: Last edited by Ph0zenstone; 12-30-2009 at 09:44 AM.. |

. . . . . Ok, seriously...there is no way to even make a good guess at this sort of thing as there are too many factors at play.

i added the pics of the tires. Can you tell from looking at those? I just want to make sure they are still useable before i pull the trigger. I don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars to buy some junk that i can't use

they look okay to use. I don't know how well they will work. If they were broken in properly, or if they will get greasy on you is left for you to find out. But for a couple hundo they are most likely worth it
