Got a ticket after 5 days of owning my car

So I picked up my exhaust and it was slightly too big for the inside of my car, pipes were hanging out of the front passenger window (1-2 feet out). I was driving in the right lane on the highway when I see the sirens. They gave me a ticket for having the pipes out of my car. Anyone know how much a fine like this is and if its mandatory to go to court?

Help me out, first ticket

What an a**hole cop. I see people all the time with stuff tied to their cars and sticking out of trunks.

yeah, i'm pretty sure you would've been fine with red tags attached. i believe they're needed if cargo extends past 1 foot beyond the vehicle's limits. i agree it was an asshole move though, as you were on the very right lane on the highway.

its not going to be reported to the DMV. (Which will report it to your insurance company) Just pay the fine and it should be over. You never got a "fix-it" ticket? Very similar liking
