335xi tire fitment question
Hey guys,
i have a 335xi sedan with sports package (162 wheels), so it comes staggered from the factory. I plan to replace the RFT with Continental DWS tires. question: 1. will running 225/45R18 on all fours cause rubbing issues on an XI sedan? basically, looking to run tires with a bit more meat and to reduce the wheel gap in the XI's wheel well. 2. and will running 225/45R18 on all fours cause any performance issues for year around driving or should i run 225/45R18 on front and 255/40R18 on rears 3. or just stick with the oem size tires 225/40R18 on all fours or with 255/35R18 on rears. Regarding all the cases posted above, you should not run in any rubbing issue. 2. u can put the same on all fours, no problem whatsoever and you will be able to cross the tires from time to time too extending the longevity of the tires.

I agree that they will fit, but your tire circumference would be 3.4% greater, causing an error in your speedometer, that much less torque at the road, a significantly heavier tire/wheel unit, and consequently less braking ability.

can anyone else weigh in on this? I'm looking to upgrade my stock 17s to the OEM 18 style 162. i'd like adding a little more meat to the tires and run 225/45R18 on front and 255/40R18 on rears. would it really make that much of a difference in handling and/or stability?
