How to adjust muffler

I know how to adjust the muffler up and down, but how do I adjust it side to side?

You will need to loosen and play with parts 8 on both sides and 13.

You can't really adjust it buddy, especially side to side. The whole thing is isolated by rubber, and the brackets have no provision for any adjustment. There's no in and out adjustment either, so adjustable tips are a must on any aftermarket exhaust, especially if you like them tucked in like stock (like I do). Only changes you can make is with rubber hangers on bracket #13 to tuck muffler up (what I did), as #8 has them built-in. Side to side is pretty much dictated by the flanges in front.

I decided to keep my stock muffler since all others would add noise inside, which I didn't want. My complaints were it looked awful, hanged too low IMO, and the orange hangers on bracket 13 (and 6) looked terrible as well. Fixed #1 with flat black paint. And #2 and #3 with black, generic rubber hangers from PepBoys, which tucked up the exhaust perfectly. That's why any exhaust you buy has to have proper fit, or it'd look bad.

What's your problem? You never said. Good luck.

I like the orange rubber things
my remus race exhaust isn't sitting perfectly center
I see what you're saying because I tried adjusting it but it didn't work
the only solution I could think of would be dremeling but I really don't want to so I just left it

Well, the Remus is NOT a catback system, so you have a lot more adjusting flexibility with those, but still, side to side misalignment can only be adjusted by bending the connecting pipes. If the difference is very little, you could try pushing the muffler by hand with the hangers loosened up. Having said that, the issue seems to be with whatever connecting pipes you're using, as I've never heard of other Remus mufflers being misadjusted. If the misadjustment is more than a couple of millimeters, I'd try loosening the flange clamp in front and try again, as the rounded flanges can possibly be rotated a hair, which would translate in a few millimeters at the back. Just make sure you have no exhaust leaks when done. Good luck man.

Oh, and the good news is by loosening the mufflers' clamps you can slide them in and out easily, and also rotate them for proper horizontal tip alignment. Keep us posted. Sounds like your issue is small, and therefore fixable. Les us know. And post some pics to better judge what kind of adjustment (or misadjustment, rather) you're talking about. It's hard to help you with no relevant info. Take care.
