My 335d arrived!
After only 5 weeks of waiting, I picked up my E92 335d Space Gray with 189 wheels (I know a very popular color/wheel combination) today!!
I left my 6 year old E46 330d (225hp/500Nm) with 318000km on the counter, at the dealer. I must say, what a difference with my good old E46!! Styling, interior, equipement, performance,.... everything!! When it comes to any purchase, I always want to try it, whether it's shoes, phone, ... so also a car. But this time, I ordered a car that I didn't drove, not even saw in real!! And after 2 week of waiting, I became a little nervous, unsure about the color, the wheels, everything... But when I saw the beauty, no more doubts! So what are my first driving experiences? I was amazed about all the features that are in the car: navi, CA, VC, BT,... I was only used to a small OBC on the E46... So it will take a while before getting to know them all. Then the actual driving: after only 70km the 1st night, I'm not yet familiar with the shifting paddles and the way the autotranny works in manual mode. But give me a week, and that will be history. One thing that I miss is an oil- or water temp. meter. Isn't that on the US version? I surely would feel more comfortable to push her once I see she's on temperature. I know this thread is worthless without pics but I'm sure she will be easier to take pics once we know eachother |

I'm from around Leuven...
So after 1 day, I drove approx 300km. The dealer told me to go eay and not pass the 3500 rpm... I didn't ... but at 200kmh you're close to 3500 rpms Now I really have to read the manual to know all the possibilities in the car |

hey, from Leuven? That means we'll see each other sooner or later... :-) Just let me know when you have any questions about some of the nice/handy features of your car... I have mine for almost a year now. I'm not claiming to be an expect, but am trying to find each and every detail :-)

I have a 335d and after 2 months I had some exhaust smell coming in through the vents so I popped the hoode to have a look around the engine.
While looking around I noticed that the smell was very intense around the turbos so I has a closer look with a flashlight and I noticed a lot of oil was leaking out around the turbo. I took it to the shop and they replaced the turbos. Now I still smell exhaust from time to time and I hear a lot of ticking noises around the turbo and the exhaust. I bought a carbon monoxide detector which goes off every few minutes... not too happy with this car... |

335d turbo and exhaust problems Help! I had some exhaust smell coming in through the vents so I popped the hooded to have a look around the engine.
While looking around I noticed that the smell was very intense around the turbos so I had a closer look with a flashlight and I noticed a lot of oil was leaking out around the turbo. I took it to the shop and they replaced the turbos. This was a simple fix but the bigger problem is the exhaust leak around the engine! This is a hazardous and poisonous problem that can be hard to detect and fix... I will post a picture where I will point out the spots where oil was and is leaking! I cant figure out where the exhaust smell is coming from but I know for sure it is coming from the left side of the engine around the turbos... I don't know why it is not constant, it only smells from time to time, usually at low RPM under 2500. Also I open the oil cap on the engine and I noticed a lot of white smoke inside the engine. Is that normal in a diesel engine? (this is the first diesel that I ever owned so I am not so familiar with this type of engine) here is a picture of the 335d engine with description of the problem areas that I discovered.
