Camping at Joshua Tree Feeler: Nov 17-19, 2006

Rock climbing season at Joshua Tree, California is soon approaching and the Leonid (meteorite) shower is due to show up this weekend of November 17-19 (Friday to Sunday).

Not sure I will be actually rock climbing this time, but it might be fun to gather up a small group of members for a potluck Saturday night, camp out, and watch the meteorite show that evening. I experienced this two or three years ago and it was awesome.

Anyone interested?

p.s. portions within Joshua Tree may be dirt road.

Hahaha; I don't remember that Beavis and Butthead episode, though there was a scene in Young Guns with Lou Diamond Phillips, Emilio Estevez, and others, where they were in LaLa mushroom land.

Matt, Let me talk to my friend tonight about that. I do recall there was a small pass fee, but it was nominal.

I used to go there with the outdoorsclub.org group, and we would have some 30-50 people all show up for a potluck evening and camping. We had so much fun. When I get home, I'll post some photos of our little camping expedition from a few years back.

I have a couple of extra tents.

I have a problem though. In checking with my significant other, she has a very important engagement to attend that Saturday morning. Ugh!

I would be able to change the date to the following weekend, but then we'd miss the leonid shower. I'll try to iron out the details over the next few days.

I have a lot of camping stuff. You won't be roughing it much.

Gilda's niece from the Phillipines has an important test (I believe it's part of her medical licensure exam) to take on Saturday morning. I'm not sure how long it will be, but Gilda has already agreed to take her to that. So I won't be able to leave that Saturday until later. I'll try to work out the details soon.

Take some laxatives Friday so you don't have to crap at all until you come back.

Taking a dump outdoors isn't so bad...all you need is some balance and precision aiming when you drop your "bombs".
