"Welcome lights" stoped working
I know there are many theads about how to get your parking lights on when you are unlocking your car, however i never had that problem with my e92 335i -07.
The welcome lights have always been working for me when i have the lights on automatic mode. untill today, the angel eyes +taillights just dont start when im unlucking the car, only the lamps under the door handles are working. i have installed LED angel eyes, but it havent been a problem before. I cant find anything on the Idrive meny about this.. all i can find is how sensitive the automatic lights should be att how many seconds the "home lights" is sopposed to run. Have anyone had the same problem? my car keeps warning me about very low battery charge, perhaps the lights are out to spare the battery? i dont think so dough.. |

First thing that I'd check is that the Light switch is either set to ON or Auto

^ Oh. Im sorry. My fault.
Since the switch is already in AUTO, then i dont know what else to tell you. If your car tells you that your battery is weak then its probably sparing your battery. Did your lights stop working when you got the weak battery alarm? (I dont know if there exists such an alarm)

It's the battery for sure.
I went on vacation and my car sat un-driven for a couple weeks or so and I came back to a low battery light and it did that same thing your describing. Drive the car a bit to get the battery going a little and the welcome AE's will work like they should. |

Hi,
So mine are working again, I guess it has to do with how dark the place you're in is, at home in my parking they dont work cos there is a light bulb over my parking spot in my office its darker so they're working. But for those of you whose welcome lights are working, usually after i switch off the car the angel lights stay on and as soon as i open the driver door they switch off. Is that normal or do urs stay on untill u lock the car? Please let me know. Thanks, |

Mine works to.. and i know now that it is the battery.. usuallt i drive my car in short distances so the battery doesnt get fully charged. but after driving the car for a longer distance its working like it used to do.
I asked my local bmw dealer if it was time to change the battery, and he said that the battery wasnt the problem,, they usually rans out in 4-5 years. then he asked me if i often did short routes whith the car, and that was the problem. And yes, my angel eyes are glowing after i turned the car off, and switch off when i open the door.

Thanks Alex, these welcome lights are something sometimes they work sometimes they dont.. I'm not sure if your theory is correct, I've been driving short routes too for the last few weeks so maybe you're right.
Spoke to the dealer as well and the service advisor happened to have a 335i too and had the same problem. He's like sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, no clue why. |

Mine also stopped working and I only see two possible causes:
I installed the LUX H8s and was unlocking/locking numerous times to see if they fade on and fade off like the OEM bulbs (they do but it's not very apparant btw). I found a thread that says they will eventually stop turning on as a safety if you do this but after driving the car around it should operate normally the next time you unlock. Second cause might be because I haven't driven the car much so the battery is not fully charged. Weather has been crap so I haven't been able to take the car out in a while. Will test this theory once the roads are better. |
