335I With dinan stage II, 360 Forged wheels
So I've done a lot o browsing the posts to see which upgrades I wanted to do on my 335. I tried the Precede 3 because of the popularity, but didn't really notice any gains? I sent the unit back and tried another Procede 3 only to have the same effect. I decided to go with the Dinan. Let me just say, the money was well worth it. As soon as I pressed the gas pedal, and my neck snapped, I noticed a huge difference. The torque and power of this Dinan tune is insane. To top it off, driving at 80 mph I still get 30 MPG! The top speed limiter was removed with the Dinan. I also added the Injen dual cone CAI. The only drawback is first and second gear shred the rear tires with the traction control off. So I decided to go with the 360 Forged spec-5. 19X9 up front and 19X10 in the rear. I've read several bad reports with the company, but they're under new management. I had awesome service from them, they were very helpful at selecting the size and offset. I was told one month to receive the wheels and had them in 26 days. They fit perfect with no rubbing. The front wheels go lock to lock w/o rub, and the rear splash liners i had to push up about an inch and now no rubbing. Chose the PS2's 285/30/19 on the rear and 255/30/19 up front. No wheels sensor problems and speedometer is correct. Now i've just ordered the ETS intercooler. Here's some pics:

I have installed two Proceeds units on two separate vehicles and I have noticed HUGE differences in power man. Neck snapping with Dinan??? wait till you get into a correctly Proceed-tuned car.

So you didnt feel anything with a proceed over dinan.
Note my sarcasm. You did something wrong when you installed the proceed, (or were still in valet/stock mode whatever they call it, go against any proceed or JB3 with the same mods and your are seeing tailights. Car looks good otherwise, so no hard feelings. I didnt know 285's fit on the coupe though... gets me thinking. Last edited by Jeff@TopGearSolutions; 12-09-2009 at 01:18 PM.. |

No I'm running TPMS, why would you think that I wasn't. I used two different procedes called the company several times. There were only two modes on the procede and nailing the car from a dead stop yielded the same power. However when I turned the procede into the off position the transmission jerked for some odd reason. Anyways I've rebuilt cars from the ground up. I tune my dads supercharged corvette with software and laptop, so I know what's going on. If u had good luck with the procede, then great. I had nothing but error codes and no in real increase in performance. With the Dinan I simply plugged my computer in and started it up, with no codes. Plus I like the reliabilty with Dinan. Been running the tune for about 4 months with no problems. A lot cooler oil temps to. Just my 2 cents

I just used liquid nails and ran a bead about an inch above where the splash liners normally sit, then pressed the plash liner into to bead of LN and put a wood block to hol it up till it dried. I didn't wanna cut the splash liners and have to worry about any more water or dirt getting up in there.

The only thing I would have done differently was to get a signature package along with the free figh flow exhaust they have. But anyways, great choice and car looks great. Enjoy it in health. |
