CF Interior, M3 Cockpit and Alcantra Steering

Folks,

I can feel you folks are anxious to know the actual look and finishing of the CF Wrap which I've got it done through a local HK shop, Film X in Sham Shui Po!! Just to share the pictures with you fellow forum members and thus, you can figure out the quality by your own!!! The CF cloth itself has the Dry CF texture and as such, there won't be clear shield covering the CF material whereby, it is kind of raw..... different taste and preference but this is what I like though.....

I have also attached the pictures for my upgraded M3 Look Cockpit with Needle but merely not having the face guage as the US version sells as Miles i/o local KM reading in the odometer... Check it out and hope, it will ease some of the CF quality and fitment issues you may have in mind!!!!

I hope there won't be any odd response being received by the forum members in HK as car modding is very personal thing in which, the way I like it may not be the same as you whereby, please respect others!! I spent almost an hour to take pictures, edit the picture, upload to my laptop....just to share how a local HK shop can do for a CF trim interior....it will save any interested CF trim buyer saving tons of $$ and time to wait for getting it done in the States or buying a real whole set of CF Trim from BMW HK.......which is definitely cost a fortune!!! Just to share my enthusiast and passion abt my AW E92 335........

Here are the CF Interior For the Front and I believe it can tell with the front's craftmanship and by the way, I have installed the M5 shift knob to replace the original brush silver knob!! Actually, I changed the shift boot to Alcantra M3 sewed style and also, same as the E Boot to match the Alcantra steering as the unqiue matching look........

....

M3 Appearance Cockpit, Needles, Backing plates but no face guage

Newly installed M Performance Alcantra Steering for DCT one my favorite mods...

As what I mentioned on the other thread, I'm the guniea pig for this loca HK CF wrap and whilst, this is their first time to wrap a full interior trims of the current new 3 series! The whole job took around 4-5 hours whereas, I will be suggesting you folks leave the trims to them and then, drive the car out without trims for one day....Then, pick up the trims next day in order to give them more time to re-checking if there is any bubbles or finishing work has to refine after the CF Cloth dry for one day....... I have good faith to believe that, they will do a better job for upcpoming Bimmer 3 series after the expereience of this ever first time for getting to know how the wrapping work should be done!!!

Renus, I hope you will get the rear BBK issue fixed after visit the garage I usually go to fix my car......

Yeah looks good. The ashtray is lid was not done properly however unless you wanted it like that. They should have removed the chrome piece and sat it on top.

Very nice, for you Matt. I got a few question for you. Do the lights on your M5 shift knob work according to whichever gear you're engaging?

Is it the non electronic performance steering wheel you got there? Sweet~ I've thought of getting that as well.

How did you put that two M3 rings onto your tachometer and speedometer? Did you DIY on this? Very nicely done there!

i saw that in person...., those CF material seem to be top rate woven CF.., hand feel is so good, right shine.., workmanship..is above aveage,..almost perfect..after seeing that..it make me so wanting to CF my bimmer too..., price is quite ressonable for such workmanship and material used....the steering wheel is wonderful...,not too thick..just right ..it seem a bit thinner than a M wheel, personally i do feel the M wheel is slightly too thick for Asian, that perfomance wheel is just right...

Hi Jack, Yes....the lights work out w/o problem except the left/right direction is the other way around when this M5 knob is actually a US LHD version!!

For the M3 tachnometer/speedometer, I bought the M3 cockpit cover from "Much More" together with the Needles and backing plate with the surrounding as the silver prior putting the guage face on top of it!! It is not very tough to take the cockpit out for such DIY job, merely couple screws to take it off but the Needle part is kind of tough as it required self adjusting work to make it back to the actual reading you used to have!! If you want to do it, you can order from "Much More" but bear in mind to record all Needle's actual position prior you took out the old one in replacing with the M3 one!!

The Performance non electric steering is definitley a good investment.... The original sport steering is just a piece of crap after you upgraded to M3, M perforated steering and etc.... Seriously, it help you to gain even more control of your car with a better steering... Thus, it is a safety mod rather than cosmetic look only.

Above all, thanks for your comment and now, I will be taking slow on my mod works as I'm getting 70% of my desired mods done within 3 months time......

Matthew

Hey man, AMAZING car!!

Question - is there any rattling noise from your trim after the CF install? I just got my car and it has wood trim, so thinking of doing this dry carbon install (looks great! Except for the cubby holes, where there's a silver strip, they just seemed to lay the CF over it?!)...

No worry...there is no rattling noise even my car is installed w/ Coilover and also, sway bar..... You should seriously consider this dry CF interior if you are bore for your wood trim!! If you don't like it, just take it off after certain period of usage and then, think of something new!! I strongly recommend to invest the interior of our cars as we are the one who is sitting in driver seat the most and as such, your preferrable interior can help to avoid those ichy feeling of changing anothe new car..
