Has anybody actually thrown a TUNER CODE?!

I'm curious if anybody has ever seen a tuner code/shadow fault code on their BT Scanner.

I remember seeing people say they've tried to throw a code on JB3 Map7 and still have not been able to do it. I don't remember ever hearing of someone actually getting a tuner code to show up.

IF anyone's thrown one, what was your experience? What was the actual code?

Thanks

So people must be buying the BT tool just for the sake of being "safe"...like wearing a condom after getting a vasectomy...(j/k)

Sure, I've seen tuner codes thrown before on certain cars. Specifically, 2D25.

Thanks for the responses! Dmurray: Do you know the specific experience of that code? Was the code thrown under a very hard track session?

I threw the tuner code well before the BT tool was released. 2DXX something = Air/fuel implausibility.

Had a local BMW shop clear it with an autologic scanner.

Recently had both turbos replaced by the dealer and I have NO DOUBT they scanned the DME and poked around the ECU box.

It does exist......just not as easy to throw as one might think.

Is that inference of 'yes JB+ will throw a tuner code if running around 75%'?

Is that code still there even after you remove the procede?

I have thrown both 2D18 and 2D25 several times under WOT with an 09 E92, MSD81, progman 35.x with the JB+ @ 75% or 100% and just also after installation/reinstallation. Also 2AAF, but this may or may not be tune related.

This is the very latest version of the progman and seems to be "more sensitive" to tuning. IMO.

I run my jb3 on map 7 daily and occasionally map 8 or 9 if I have fuel and never thrown a tuner code with it. I did however throw a code with my sstt at WOT close to redline.

wo woo wooo...you just said you had both turbos replaced...like as if you just got your oil changed...can you tell us what happened?

if you could comment on that at this post below...everybody would appreciate it...its about what is the turbo life expectancy for both mod and stock cars http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327083 thanks a lot

Interesting because my friend is a tech and has never seen the tuner codes at the dealer. Maybe it's because everybody is deleting them.

Keeping the JB+ at 50% or lower should not throw a code. At 75% and up you may and that is why you should get the BT tool. That is a great reason to buy the JB+ or JB3/BT combo since it will save you a lot of money up front and give you that safe warm fuzzy feeling.
