weird sound
When i turn the wheel to the right smetimes i hear a noise that sounds just like brake dust but not pressing the brakes or no dirt on the rotor. I was thinking a wheel bearing maybe? you guys have any idea?

I have this noise too on the same car. Anyone have any ideas??
The dealer topped off my power steering fluid, didn't help.

I've got the same problem, regardless of car is moving or not when I turn the streeing either way this squeaky noise comes. I thought may be the leather was rubbing and tried to telescope the steering wheel out, but the sound was still there. I read somewhere else that some guy had that problem and dealer replaced the steering column or something. I got service due in Jan. so I plan on bringing this issue to my dealer's attention.

To me, it sounds like it's coming from just behind the steering wheel, like still inside the car.

Yea I've got this too.. It's like a squeel, when you turn the wheel left to right or right to left.. Plus I've got a click feeling coming through my steering wheel when turning into a junction at low speeds or doing a 3 point turn...!!
The squeel noise has only just started last week. Never noticed it before. Maybe because my tunes have been on while driving I've not noticed it. I think I should take it to a dealer to sort or take a look. Let me know how you all get on with yours..? Rgds Al Star |

I used to have this problem took it to the dealer two times before they figured out what it was. They changed the slip ring in the steering wheel, I have no idea what that is or what it does but it works and no more squeaking wheel. Hope it helps. Posted this in another thread too forgot where it was.

Do you hear it after the car has been driven for a while (warm brakes)? An annoying chirp-chirp-chirp? I have the same thing. I searched the forums, but no cure exists. It's not a bearing. |

BTW the noise comes especially when it's way too cold. The other day the temperature outside was showing 37 degrees, and the streeing wheel was making way too much noise.
I don't plan on showing this to dealer until Jan. that's when the service is due, I'm not making double trips there. |

Mine seems to be all the time but I mostly notice it when it's cold. Only on right turns too. I will need a brake fluid flush in February so I was have it looked at again then.

Not a chirp chirp but a cheeeeeeeeeeeeeee then if i move the steering wheel to the other side it stops..and then if i move it back it starts again. High pitch noise It actually happens after driving not right after start up..an always when i move the steering wheel to the left..it sounds super similar as brake dust noise just a lil more high pitch. Also i kinda realized it does happen on cold weather too but not sure cause everyday is cold this last 2 weeks.. will analyze that a lil more. |
