I did mine last night, I just used the dental floss to cut one letter off at a time. Then I want back with a heat gun, heated up the remaining glue, peeled right off.

Yeah, use dental floss but try and get it between the plastic emblem and the 3m tape rather than the 3m tape and the paint.

You should pull the whole number off keeping it vertical and parallel to the back of the trunk.
Don't pull the numbers off from one edge and let it pivot against the paint to on the other edge of the number. It'll leave little marks on the paint. That happened to me. I can see it but only under alot of light and up close.

I am looking to de-badge also...just wondering the car is a 2006; think paint fade might be an issue? If so, any way to correct this?

Did mine - super easy...
1) Used wifes blow drier, moving the dryer back and forth warming the area gradually until it was very warm to the touch. (Did not want to heat it too fast) 2) Used glide (very thin dental floss) and slid it between the numbers and paint. 3) Once numbers came off, used goo gone to get the remainder of glue off. 4) light polish and wax Did it to my Sparkling Graphite 1 year 2 months after getting it, and there was no paint discoloration, and I LOVE it. |
