Quick Q On Performance Delivery...
i searched and read and viewed alot of member's journal of the trip but i have a few questions about this.
1. if you order a new car is it delivered to the performance center (SC) and then reshipped back to your nearest dealer for pickup after you come home? 2. if you bought an m3 do they let you drive an m3 at the PD? i see in most pics and reviews they give you a car that is similar to yours like 335i to 335i, 328, etc. 3. if your car is at the delivery center, can you decide to take it from there and drive it back home yourself? 4. does the person that tags along with you also do the same activities ie: get their own car, etc or is really there just to tag along?

It's delivered to and prepped at the Performance Center. That's it. Whatever you do it with it from there is your own responsibility.

If this is something you're considering, you should call them to plan things out with them. They go out of the way to make you feel special, but talk to them and figure out the best way for you to do it.

hm based on google maps it is 721 miles and approx 11 hours which is not bad, gives me a head start on breakin.
i did drive from ny to florida non stop one time from disney world so this should be no prob i don't know why you can't have your car delivered to dealership near your house go to PD and go home and there is your car, it not like your driving your car around the track.

Can probably shave a bit off that estimation if you plan it right and avoid traffic. Google Maps assumes speed limit. But 700 miles isn't bad at all, NY to SC is certainly doable. Not like you're out in California..
