Wondering if people are on the same page as me on full vinyl wraps
How many people here feel like it is the sickest thing to vinyl wrap a car a diff. Color like matte red, matte grey or matte white/black.
Is it already played out or what, if someone gave me a quote of like 2 grand to wrap my car I'd be der jin like 2 minutes lolll. You guys like it? |

Well a flat black is always going to turn heads no matter what car its on. That being said, how they react will depend on what car is being driven. Usually though it does look good. If you did it on a m5 it would look sick...on a 535 not sure exactly how it would look. However, I have yet to see a matte white in person and I would think it would look pretty good.

Hey Harout, do you ever hang out at that car place on Victory near Riverside? Ive seen a few 5'ers there. I work down the st.
Edit: Why are you here on e90post anyways? The guys on the 5 series forums are way cooler. http://forums.5series.net/ |

Not a fan of the matt colors or wrapping in general - especially in black. When I see a car in matt black I just can't get out of my mind that the car looks like it's in primer and ready for paint - i.e. the car isn't finished yet...

I tend to agree that the whole matte black look is played out. It first started with the old cheap drift cars and imports. fools couldn't afford to get a nice paint job or get their cars repainted after they crashed them drifting, so the rattle-can flat black look was born. The point being, is it was a way to keep the car all one color without having to spend money on nice paint. It's was a ghetto fix, and paying for this look is retarded imo, especially when the car already has good paint.
Now all I can think about when I see a car painted matte black are these old jdm drifter cars. And when people start paying good money to copy this look, it's a pretty good sign that the trend is played out. |

yea matte black's def been around forever. it's a good color if done correctly. i think some people just noticed the color due to a surge of what some japanese import enthusiast bringing back the color.
some photos of flat black cars i found that I think look pretty good: |
