Well seems like for a str8 base 335i, after some negotiation, and after putting a gun in the dealers head and threatening his children.

I followed your link, configured my car, entered my zip code, and it came out $7200 off list price. I doubt a 335 is available at such a discount. But even if it were, I wouldn't want one. Have to deal with one unreliable car with fuel delivery issues at a time.

Damn, im hearing that alot in every thread i go into. THE DREDDED HPFP problem, wtf ???
I'm seriously de-considering buying a BMW now.
pretty sad that BMW cannot find a resolution to the problem.
Why dont hey just use an aftermarket fuel pump, or better yet, why dont YOU GUYS use an aftermarket fuel pump, like an exterior unit. I would think that after spending thousands of dollars on a new car, whats another few hundred for a new fuel pump. WTF ???

If it worries you, just buy a 328i instead. No HPFP.

All it takes is $$$ to overcome any BMW issues! It's very realistic to add $3380 in your mind to whatever deal you get on a BMW 3, to bump your warranty up to 6/100. I didn't think so when I drove off the lot, but nearly 3 years later, I'm ready to pony up $3900 for 7/100 as my mileage is lower. These are the realities, without fluff.

Remember this site is also here to discuss about cars issues to find answers. People aren't going on here to say how great there HPFP is going. So most of the threads youre going read on is about this problem. There a lot of HFPF problems out their but that shouldnt be enough to discourage you. Chances are you wont encounter this issue. And if you do, the dealer has you covered.

a) There are a lot of us with 335i WITHOUT any issues my self included. Go over toe Bimmerfest.com there was a thread where a lot of owners without problems have chimed in.

b) I do not believe it is as wide spread as it sounds. But, if it happens to you, you are pissed and the internet gives you a soapbox to keep stating your problem over and over.

c) yep, there are problems but its probably less than it seems because the vocal crowd is at the forefront.

d) You never hear anything from people without problems because they have nothing to complain about.

LOL that's exactly how I felt until this month. And yes, the dealer will keep having my back as soon as I pay another $3900 for 7/100.

I think it's better to be realistic. It's a car--those red and black circles on Consumer Reports do mean something.

and that number is for the combined fleet of all n54 powered cars/suvs in the usa. Sad but true.

I went the other day to the dealer to look at an 09 coupe, sticker was $51,200, and they were going to give it to me for 46,500 plus tax and everything came out to like 49k. I rejected because I already had the same basic car, not too bad of a deal though. And I wouldn't worry about the fuel pump, there are tons of people that have never had those problems and the car is deff worth the risk.

I would usually agree with statements like this on other issues, but the fact that BMW actually has an extended warranty on this part makes me think it is more widespread than you actually think.

Because when its working right, which is 99% of the time, its the best bang for your buck. If its not, you get to try a diff BMW loaner from the dealer. Whenever I bring my car in I get a 535 or a full blown x5 to drive. Mine or loaner -> still better to drive than most cars out there. Don't buy one, but then don't pine when you see one blow by you.

Did you really Word yourself?

considering the 2010's are out, they may be basing the pricing off other manufacturers deals for a one year old model. If you really want accurate pricing, go to truecar.com
When I was looking into the IS350, I was getting 10k off sticker because it was a 1 year old model, with 09's waiting to come in once the 08 model sells.

While you may not be getting way below invoice pricing, invoice -$1000 may be reasonable depending on the desperation of the dealer. Most people get invoice pricing for a car that needs to be ordered from Germany, so just think about a car sitting on the lot. No dealer wants a car sitting on the lot.

The amount of people that never see a problem are far greater than the people that do.
