Angel eyes

I ordered the Xenon headlights, and I noticed those "angel eyes" come with the package. Actually, I've never even seen these before, so I know absolutely nothing about them, except they look really cool. It just makes me wonder, though, if they burn out, I don't think it wouldn't be like simply changing a light bulb. If an angel eye burns out, do you have to replace the entire headlight assembly? Do the angel eyes burn out? I would think they are pretty expensive to replace. My warranty is for 4 years, but my car loan is for 5. Thanks.

The Angel eyes are lit by a small light unit at the back, this light unit is replacable and not very expensive. Around 24 Euros

Does the "angel eyes" only come with xenons? Please let me know because if that's the case I want to get this option.

Hey thanks for clearing that up. Like I said, I had no idea how they worked. From what I saw, it looked like they worked just like those neon signs or flourescent light bulbs. I'm glad to hear they don't and it's also good to know they won't be difficult to change if they ever burn out.

What does? The light unit for the angel eyes, or the whole headlight assembly itself? Because I heard the headlights are really expensive. E90fleet says about $30.00 US just for the light unit of the angel eyes, though.

So do people actually drive around with their lights on parking? I just leave mine on Auto all the time. I never touch the switch. Isn't that what everyone else does? Isn't that the purpose of the auto lights?

wow man, you just dug up almost a year-old thread...

i leave mine in Auto as well. sometimes, when it's overcast (quite often in pittsburgh actually) but it's dark enough for the sensors to trigger the lights, i manually switch it to angel lights only, because for one, it looks cool , and for two, i make myself a little bit more visible.

Yeah, I was searching for information on the angel eyes. I had heard the term, but I didn't really know what they were or how they worked. I had a question, and I didn't want to start a whole new thread. This one was pretty short and the information wasn't dated or anything, so I just posted the question here.

I do the exact same thing... about 400 miles east of you (so I feel ya on the overcast thing) in Allentown.

I'm sure that you can set the angel eyes/daytime running lights to be on all the time through the settings menu!
