I sent something registered post from Switzerland to my bank in Scotland ... 2 weeks on and no sign at all.

You do realise there are mountains of post sitting in London, and you may be lucky if the Posties even turn up at work tomorrow.

Strike looming.

Carlos,

It's untraceable and effectively like sending cash. People like that prey on the fact that you're not gonna pay the extra 50p on a £4 battery for recorded delivery and they have your money. Ok so it's only £4, but if they do it 100 times a month!

However I agree that Paypal are a bunch of frickin crooks!

On second thoughts is it possible to check with a PO if a postal order has ever been cashed? You did keep the serial number on it after all?

It's a cheap lesson to learn, Carl. I wish a lot more of my lessons only cost me four - or even eight - quid. Send them a cheque (avoid sending a cheqye, they're no good) because you'll then have record of when it is cashed and avoid your concerns with eBay.

Paypal all the way on ebay. Too many hijacked accounts etc.

Would never pay any other way.

£4 is a very cheap lesson.

But i'm sure a new phone battery from one of those 'unlock your phone' places is less than that? I i think i paid £2 for Nokia N95

Carl, with the state of the Post Office right now I would say there is a 50/50 chance the guy never got your postal order. Send a cheque and this time by recorded delivery and e-mail him to say what you've done. Doesn't matter if he doesn't respond, you now have a paper trail to show should anything happen in the future.

Whats your problem with being banned. Didn't stop you on Pistonheads or on here

Get your shit together and get your Paypal account sorted. £500 of protection if the deal goes sour or your product is moody.

If you send a postal order without keeping the receipt then you are a chump. If you send cash you are a chump. If you send a cheque and it gets cashed and the product gets lost in the post you are a chump. Tens of thousands of postal items go missing everyday. I had a recorded letter left on my door step this week with a valuable item inside and £100 cheque. Twat of a postman didn't give a shit he was supposed to have had it signed for.

Use paypal and pay with a credit card for your own protection. Anything less and you may as well put four quid down your toilet and flush it away.

PS. I also don't like theiving pikeys but you can't go accusing without knowledge or proof that this seller is or has done anything wrong.
