x5m / x6m

now from the official website you can get a little info- but not much, so I registered for info online
my local dealer rang today and admitted that they probably wouldnt be getting one in as a demo (no surprise really) but that I could order one now through them!
I politely refused saying that I had read differing reports in mags and online and would want to see and drive one in the flesh before committing.
Even though i have had a e39 m5 from them an a new e60 m5 and their demo m6 (amongst others) they said if I wanted to have a drive when it was finally released (couldnt give me a timescale) then I would have to "hire" one from bmw to see if I liked it and then would get the money back if I ordered it afterwards.
times have changed I think

Don't really get these types of cars/wagons and the motives to make an M. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

i want to see one to see what they are really like
but i also think that this time they have gone a step too far
what I'm saying is that you wont be able to just test drive one you have to pay for it first!
and... it will have to be something pretty special to get me out of the 335d
i'm very similar to palmball on this (changing for changing sake) but now cant think of anything that I wont regret moving to
a it has to be able to lug 4 people
and 1 dog
towbar
and do 30+mpg
or get something that will be able to do a couple of the above and pay for something else that can do the others
... bloody hell i'm getting old and / or practical.....I'm turning into my dad.. argghh!!!

Pay for it first, what are BMW on about its not exactly a Mclaren is it. I would think a selection of large dealerships will be forced to register a few examples.

Thats a disgrace a certainly no way to treat a potential customer who might spend upwards of £70k on a car. Crazy!

I actually quite like the X6M (no, I won't be buying one as I can't afford one)....but these will be bargains after 2-3 years as they're gonna drop really quick.

Every one that has reviewed these cars say they are bad. Better VFM staying with non M variants.

A black mark on the M brand (x 2)

If you must have a fast lairy 4x4 get the new supercharged RR Sport or a Cayenne Turbo. Or if you really want everyone to hate you, get the Q7 V12 diesel.
