Auto window not working when doors opened

Has anyone experienced this?

when I have my doors closed, the auto window functions work, but when the doors are opened it does not work and you have to manually press/pull to open and close the windows.

I think this is malfunction.

thoughts?

Mine does the same thing. I don't think it's a malfunction, probably just some kind of safety feature.

Its so you dont crush peoples fingers when they open/close the door by the frame rather than the handle.

that sucks. I always open my door while windows roll up and have to do it manually. I'll just have to be patient.

thanks guys.

Or just roll them up after you lock the door by putting your finger on the ridges of the door handle for 3 seconds if you have CA. If not, you would have to put the valet key in the handle and turn it to the right...

It's by design. It's stated in the manual.

If you pull the switch to roll the window up and then open the door the window will stop.

I actually have CA and works great EXCEPT for this feature. I keep my finger on the ridges and nothing happens, it just locks the door. I read somewhere that for longer time it folds in the mirrors as well?
