Things you hate about your car...

Just wanted to see what really gets under your skin about your e9x..

The manual temp dial to select hot and cold air...really BMW, wtf?

In coupes, we have the same piece of plastic trim around the window switch, but since we have 2 less windows, its just an extra large dull piece of plastic..looks cheap.

The manual temp doesnt bug me that much, but I do hear you on the window switches. I have the sedan, so not for me.

Since we're on the window topic:
I hate that the buttons are so far upfront. Everytime I see some1 I know and try to open the window, I open the back ones!!!
LOL
Looks noobish EVERYTIME!!!

Also hated that the 2009 328i came with these stupid 16's. At least make them 17 inches!!! Mine came to 52k, I mean come on!!!
But I got 162's now, so thats fixed.

That's an easy fix:
if you have iDrive, just uncheck the box that says: lock windows when car is rolling.
If you dont have iDrive, ask your dealer to change that setting.

Personally, I really like the lock feature.
And I dont mind pulling twice.

There's a setting in the non-idrive peoples dash settings.

You gotta dig around for it as I can't recall which menu its found exactly... however I used to have that problem and it drove me nuts lol.. people in the car would always be like "uhh... how do you unlock the door?" after they've pulled on the handle once... and tell them to pull again... just awkward.

My few rattles piss me right off, that and my "torn" leatherette, and my useless cup holders but I guess there's no way around that really with iDrive, and the map pockets could be bigger. The CCC issue with playing MP3's on early build E90's with iDrive should have been fixed rather than as a response to customer complaint, I got my car with 81k on it damn it.

ok, I'm done now.

The crappy paint job (orange peel) on the car, and the peeling of the interior plastic trim.

Haha true...even after a good 2 day waxing session, I'm like pos paint job...lols

Gotta look at it from about 10ft away at an angle in dim light...that's the only way to make our cars paint job look decent

Terrible ride quality from the run-flats. Fiddly little buttons on the stereo.

Not really what you're asking, but I also don't like the way the option packages are set up (e.g. it would be great to get sports seats as a stand-alone option, as the UK guys can).

Hate SMG because it's starting to show problems, and changing the battery every 2.5yrs.
I just changed to my 3rd one 5 days ago.

I hate how its almost impossible to get fresh cold air from the outside into the car via the heating/cooling system. If you've driven the car moderately hard, the heat from the engine seems to just pre heat the cool air from outside. I almost always have to turn the a/c on, or crack the windows open.

If you've been driving really aggressively and pushing the engine hard, you can almost feel the heat come right through the firewall by your feet.

I suppose this heat is alot more prevalent on the twin turbo engine.

Don't like sensors for oil level and tire pressure. What's wrong with a dipstick and pressure gauge? Why not a a simple knob to adjust the dash illumination? Having to use the menu via the turn stalk is a pain. Would like a temp gauge on my 328i. $1200 for a Sirius tuner? And finally, why doesn't BMW ditch the damn runflats? A minispare would be better. But all in all I love my 328i.

I hate this as well! I've been trying forever to just get some cold fresh air without having to waste more gas by turning on the AC or be blasted by dust particles from opening the windows.....even my old 1995 toyota was able to do this.....this is just pathetic....

made worse is if you drive with the windows down and turn the HVAC off...when you turn it back on you get a blast of hot air.

I can relate to half the things you guys are talking about...

... but when you toss the car way too fast around a corner, and it just stays planted and goes exactly where you want it to go... you just tend to forget about all those little things.

i hate how I used to think how the car rides very firm coz it's sporty and find out how there was sooooooooo much body roll at the track today LOL

i hate how the cubbyhole in the centre in front of the armrests is rubber-lined and gets nasty looking when scratched up (by coins and the like)

i hate how the cupholders are limited in size ... i hate my passengers more for not watching those cupholders and they jam their knee into them when they get in (don't break them!!!)

the 325 could use a little bit more power ...

Two things that piss me off badly so far are
The car stereo will shut down every 10min or so. Evertime i wash the car I have to stop what im doing and go in to turn the music back on, over and over again.
2nd ofcource the seat belt noise. Really not necessary when u need to go from one block to the next or so. I do that often and No I will not walk to the next block..
The rest of the problems Im used to or im fine with cause i knew what i was getting into when i bought my car.

haha true, i used to open my rear windows so many times. Im used to it now. As for 16s it doesnt bother me. Right from the start i knew id upgrade to 19/20s. So 1" didnt make a difference for me. I actually didnt take one of the cars the dealer offered me just cause it had 17s and he wanted to charge extra. I wanted 16s for winter tire set up. 16s do look so small but it will only make my new set look so much nicer to me when i do get one.
