Depends on the car.
328 or 330? Not really many performance mods, maybe intake? 335? JB3?

one its "bimmer", two you have a non turbo e9x, so exhaust, intake, and a minor tune is all you can do for like 30+ hp for about $2k

Agreed on the 335... however, for the non-Turbo, the best modification is probably an exhaust. It won't add much more (nothing will, on that motor), but it'll sound nice
No turbo or supercharger kits exist yet, to my knowledge. |

If its a 330i Beemer, i would suggest an Intake. This kind of bemer does not have a lot of potential as it isnt an FI motor. So, you are better off concentrating on the engine note and minor stuff like shifters. More feel good than effective.
The Bee Em 335i (on the other hand) is tuners nirvana. Check out the subforum, its a macrocosm of teenagers, huge egos and an awful lot of drama. A mini Chevrolet forum, if you will. But no matter what you have, i congratulate you on the Beemer. All Bee Em's are good cars.

As for the OP's question, if power is a concern save for a 335i. If not, exhaust and intake will sound sweet and please the seat of the pants dyno. |

It's not decided yet. They are testing both options.
