320D and fuel economy again and first proper run

Well finally after 5K and 4 months of ownership I've finally got to do a solid long distance uninterrupted run.

Well for those interested did a steady run from around camberley J4 M3 all the way to north wales last night A55 St Asaph about 250 miles in total

Intitially about 30 miles cross country then steady run up the M4, A34 , M40 and up the M6. Non stop 4 hours and at end of it felt as fresh as when I started, credit to the car and ride quality, who ever says MTechs have a hard ride needs to go and drive a seat "bone shaker" leon.

Whats more with the mpg at 54.3 and av speed 73.4mph it reads quite good. On normal sainsbury's diesel I managed 200 miles on 1/4 of tank putting range of just under 800 miles. Not bad for a 177bhp 2.0 Diesel in my b ook

Compare that to my old e46 320D 150Bhp that could manage around 150miles to a quarter tank. So all in all a good improvement. Should be interesting what figures will go up to once the map goes on. Question is which one to go for.

Just out of interest, what took you to St Asaph? I used to stay up there quite a lot on business...

Site visit to a client, they are doing network migration to a new SBS domain so case of reisntall, upgrade clean up of all our products and move it to the new network.

Fun couple of days

That was in a way my initial thoughts as well, plan was to go for a 330D but after working out the monthly lease cost I had to be sensible and do 320D but then a map will help to ease the pain of less power,

Though with fuel prices now at 1.10 and vat going back up soon and b£"Dy HMRC only advising of 10p per mile on 2.0D I'm happy getting this MPG.

Nice

I used to stay at the Tallardy or Oriel House - my previous company has a big fibre optic cable manufacturing plant up the road in Boddelwyddan and I used to run network infrastructure design courses there!

Go for the Evolve map just my opinion as I had their map and its been perfect. As I have mentioned 215 BHP and mid 50s to the gallon.
