GREAT !!! (for a few weeks) - all those cretins that currently sit glued to the far-right-hand lane of dual carriageways and motorways will naturally be in the "non-overtaking" lanes after the change.
Will take the ignorant bar-stewards a few weeks to wake up and realise i reckon! seriously though, disastrous trying this now - 50 years ago (with less vehicles, less "sophisticated" road features (cambers, passive engineering etc) maybe, but now, no chance......

I think the Irish hit it on the head. In response to the suggestion of change they asked "Is it needed" and the answer was no.
We drove on the left so men could draw their swords. A pretty daft reason indeed - but no dafter than driving on the right because Napoleon was left handed!! |

Sweden changed from driving on the right to the left overnight, but that was back in the sixties & it was done to encourage more tourism from neighboring Norway & Finland..
What would Britains reason to change be ?? |

Because car manufacturers wouldnt need to make right hand drive cars, saving them money, and somehow giving the government a massive trillion pound tax backhander by opening more factories in England, or something.

I heard the UK's going to do it in two stages. The first week is buses and trucks.
