Talking GTR2 - Race Simulator - E92

I used to play this (PC) a while ago - with the E46, so decided to reinstall it when I stumbled upon an E92 Championship, add on.

I then decided to re-texture one of the M3's to personalise it, and then went for a few laps around the Ring in it.

Need to tweak it now and see how fast I can get it around the Top Gear Track

Its not really a game this - as its a simulator really, and very realistic. You can also race "online" against each other, and download any cars, tracks etc you want .... there all out there.

Anyway here's a few pictures:

Cab:

I've actually still got an online server for this too ?

E90Post Online Racing !!

Yes you can, its in the Options settings, although it is Official MOTEC software it uses !!

If your talking about the "idrive" screen etc, no its how it was made.

Its called GTR2

Its going for around £16 now too :

http://www.game.co.uk/PC/Racing/~r329389/GTR-2/

Steering wheels / foot pedals sets etc are really cheap for the PC Too now !!

Once you have that installed, you just grab any addons you want (free).

For example

Top Gear Test Track
Cadwell
Donnington
Bedford

There all there, along with loads and loads of cars - including the Top Gear Reasonably Priced car ...lol.

Just had a blast around the Top Gear Track ... lol

Note the Lap time .... Beat that in an M3 Stig ...haha.

The wife is whining now, so best I jump of it .... too old for games now apparently ?

the add ons, come about as and when the "developers" make them to be honest, the E92 one for example is 2009.

There are loads of gaming type people who create these "add ons" for GTR2 for 100% free ... the game itself is not used once you start downloading these add ons.

They have the DTM too, and there is also the F1 Championships.

It all depends what you fancy really?

All in all, for about £16, you get a base game, that is value for money, as you are then able to download and install, all these variations, as you like.

Yeah i was never good at the downloading updated stuff for GP4 so doubt i could do it for this one.

Realism wise, as good as Geoff crammonds GP series? (good game that, not arcadey, unrealistic shit)

will it work on my laptop.

It all depends on your laptop specs really.

(I have quite a high spec desktop?)

As for the game, its 100% simulator .... not an " arcade game".

That looks amazing! But if I bought it, I'd disappear for months and get in trouble.

It will do, however don't expect it to handle and drive "exactly" like a real car ... its a computer, but very close indeed.

I mean the accidents after wheel contact? they do launch and roll? or not?

GP3 and GP4 did with F1.

sounds similar to GP4 then, although realism and damage are one thing, touching wheels and getting airBorne does not matter whether damage is on or not!

GTR2 is brilliant.

I have the add ons 'Race 07' and 'GTR Evolution', which gives you E90 BTCC cars, better graphics etc

Have you got a Logitech G25 - it really brings the game alive?
