iPod interface install in SAN DIEGO

Have any San Diego residents here had the new iPod adapter installed yet? What dealership did you use?

I too want to get the IPOD adapter installed.. I spoke to my salesman at BMW San Diego, and he said he will call me back with a price and availability... Is that where you were thinking of going too?

Brecht BMW hasn't installed any yet, so I don't trust them. Harloff BMW says they are waiting for new software from BMW before they can install. BMW of San Diego said they've only done one install, on a 6 series, and they charged the guy $980 for it.

I think what I'm going to have to do is wait for Harloff to get it going. They seem to be the most reputable as far as service goes.

I coulda sworn I saw someone on this forum or bimmerfest that lived in San Diego and had the adapter installed/working in a 06 330.

I bought my Ipod adaptor from BMW of SD. They parts guy told me they had plently of adaptors. The only downside was the wait to get it installed. I was given a appointment 2 weeks out, but I couldn't wait that long. While in AZ for labor day I had it installed.

It sounds great and the control is outstanding!

Why not DIY? I have worked with car stereos for over 6 years...So I might just do it myself... I just don't know if it will void any warranty with the car.

Besides removing most of the dash....there is still a software update for my NAV. So why pay them to just load software when they can quickly remove the dash and any other componets that I know nothing about.

How much did they charge you for the install?
