Replacing Console Trim

I may replace my walnut trim with brushed aluminum in the console area only. Will I need to re-use the ashtray lid and pry off the wood piece or does new OEM aluminum trim come with a new lid? Also, does anyone have any pics of an aluminum console with a dark walnut dash? Thanks.

IIRC 4 screws hold the ashtray in. Then carefully remove the walnut lid with a small screwdriver...there are 2 indentations towards the back. The new aluminum one just snaps on from the front. I drove my car a week or so with aluminum console and wood on the dash. It looked horrible...sorry I don't have a pic though.

If you order trim pieces separately; the ash tray covers DO count as separate pieces.

Ya I love the aluminum transformation. Got some pieces on Ebay and some from tischer. Great prices from tischer.
