Texas DPS laws to go into effect Sept 1.

I thought some of you might be interested in this. These are some of the new laws to go into effect on Sept. 1st...

The one that concerns me is:
Vehicle inspection: SB 589 requires that a vehicle equipment safety compliance label be placed on a windshield, side or rear window stating that the window tinting complies with the appropriate provisions of the Transportation Code. Failing to place the required label on the vehicle could lead to a $1,000 fine.

Alright, but where do we go to have the sticker to state our tint is compliant under state law? I know my tint is the darkest possible to still be legal. But where to get this new sticker? Same places that I can normally get a car inspection sticker?

Normally the window tinter provides this. My guy puts the sticker on the side window, in the corner before he tints it. It's stuck between tint and glass, and at the time, he told me that was already a regulation.

I'll have to check my window to see if a sticker was installed by the tinter tomorrow.

Actually, the legal limit in Texas is 35% on the sides and anything you want in the rear. I have 35% on the sides and 20% on the rear of Formula One Pinnacle.

Another stupid law. How about those who installed tint before that date? Or if somebody with illegal tint has the sticker? They can't legally fine you if you have legal tint, but don't know who'd have the burden of proof. You'd think with the ridiculous property taxes here they'd have those freaking tools to determine tint percentage. Why more stupid laws when they can just enforce the ones already in place ?

Need to tint the M3 before September then. I'm not putting another freaking sticker in my car. Good day folks.

Hey, it could be worst..........I heard New Jersey has a 'NO TINT' law!

But you're right in putting another sticker.......I just got through putting that BRIGHT Tolltag sticker right smack down on the middle of my windshield!

That's probably the one. See if it has some sort of license or registration number. Mine's no bigger than 0.5" square. I never notice it.

It will most likely happen when you go for your inspection sticker and the use the ol window tint meter on it...sucks though cause I hate stickers and here is another one that needs to be added to go with the two I already have...
