New car - can't wait!

I ordered my 320D M-sport, 8 weeks ago for delivery September 1st.
The dealers order ack. said the 14th. I queried this at the time and the reply was, that the 14th was just to be on the safe side.
Well I can't wait for the 14th, I'm just fed-up with driving a borrowed Mini Cooper (I reacon a bit over rated, but better than nothing & mus'nt grumble)
I'm tempted to start pushing the dealer.
What do you think guy's? Should I try a little hassle? Will it help do you think?
My better half say's lay off him!
But considering how long ago I placed the order I just hate to think that someone will get delivery before me!
Shall I drop the dealer an email? What do you think?
Cheers!

Ordered that long ago they may well have the car in stock by now! Worth giving the sales guy a call and finding out where the car is... they can tell.

Thanks dxb335d & mjh93sa I will make contact with the dealer.
But slight embarassment The delivery is perhaps longer than av because motor is specked with an 'individual' dash wood finish, My better half hates ali/stainless. But dealers are very skilled at knowing all the excuses, so I will send off an email.
Cheers!

You're paying them plenty, so make them work for it!

That's certainly a long wait. I'm with Ian on this one, pick the phone up and put some pressure on. They can easily sit on (or completely ignore) an email.

What spec/colour combo have you gone for? Assume it's an e90?

Well I assume you want a 59 plate, so no point pushing for anything earlier than Sept, but no harm in asking how things are looking.

Also, I would never collect a car in the first week of a reg change - they'll be up to their eyeballs, and standards are bound to suffer....

Dont think he wants earlier than sept 1, just wants it two weeks before the 14th which they have told him.

it'll be fine.

So I ordered my M3 with individual Piano Black trim which does delay it. Ordered it middle of May arrived at the dealer 30th June.

Phone your dealer it should _definately_ have been produced by now and I would expect it to be on route. Once its on its way its literally days til the dealer gets it.

This is what worries me, but I will be checking it over for sure for signs of burnt rubber. But I just wish I could do a proper doughnut.
The car for delivery is a E90 320D M-Sport, Le Mans blue, beige leather with Prof Sat Nav Media Package + Visibilty Pack + servotronic steering and other bits & pieces.
Just can't wait for delivery.
It was a mistake to sell early my E90 320i SE. It seemed a good idea at the time as it was still within its extended warranty and the price was right. But money dos'nt make up for the discomfort of a borrowed car (Mini Cooper)when it is not comfortable for journeys other than short runs. It might be fast but it lets you know its doing it!

I'd just give them a quick contact call. You've no reason to feel embarrassed or feel you're harassing them; you've spent a load of cash so you're at liberty to keep on top of it - you're only after an update after all.

The date of the 14th is probably covering their own backs. Surely it's in their best interest to hand you the car sooner rather than later for a) their figures and b) space.

Thanks rogerxp for your comments.
My contact at the dealers is on holiday for two weeks,(of course!) but I'm in the carzy somewhat because I'd forgotten that when I changed the colour from TitaniumSil to Le Mans BlueI (I don't mind the polishing!) plus an 'individual' dashboard they stuck another couple of weeks on the deliver time, taking the date out to 25 sept.
Anyway, I'm trying to contact the Sales Manager for a 'progress report' of the situation as I've still got to rake up the dosh from various places and it might take time.
Cheers!

I ordered my E92 back in January and is due on the 1st Sept, now that is a long time. I have been driving is a Fiesta 1.2 since selling my 320D Sport. I have mine for 4 years best car I had so far, you will not be disappointed!

If you really want it on the 1st Sept then have a friendly chat with the dealer and see if there is any leeway, hope it goes well

Lots of cars seem to be delayed - I know someone who has now been waiting 7 weeks for his S4 to even get a build date!

I found my 1 week wait bad enough!

Penyfan - what's your link with Pen y Fan? I've hoofed up it many times...

Its an Alpina Was going to be early July delivery so only two month delay after the previous 7.

However if I know it was going to be September I could have waited till the a bit longer still for the 2010 model come out

Did an Army Selection Course. I also, went up-and-down many times and with a heavy load! Never to be forgotten!
Back to the car. The nice man at the Dealers said it was in now in the Paintshop! So I am sure its starting to look good!
I am not normally impatient, but with the borrowed car I don't get any enjoyment in driving. In fact, I just hate it!
Whereas, with my E90 320i SE I used to make excuses to go for a drive and even prolong trips, as it was just better than being indoors!
Cheers!
