New 328 ED order - Will the real Techno Violet please stand up?
I am finalizing an order for a 328 E92 for ED on 10.20 and I am thinking of getting either Silver or something that's more Individual, as I think BMWs color choices are pretty lame right now. Anyway, I'm thinking Techno Violet but have never seen one in person and the pics on the internet vary quite a bit, so I'm not really sure what I'll be getting.
Here are a few examples, including an E92. There are basically two sets - the first 6 which all make Techno appear to be pretty dark with a bluish hint to it. And the final post, which contains two pictures where Techno is very bright. If any of you know which is the real Techno, I'd appreciate your comments. I need to decide on Techo and finalize my order by the end of this month, 8/09. The first set of pics here appear similar. Post #13 from the attached: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1224377 http://www.flickr.com/photos/thecarspy/2623136479/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/thecars...n/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/thecars...n/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhbodle/2758530274/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhbodle...n/photostream/ Finally, the first two pics in this Bimmerfest post look much, much brighter/different than the photos above. I know sunlight can have an effect on colors, but this much of a difference? http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30758 Thanks y'all! |

I would say the E92 would be close to what the "real" Techno Violet would be on your 328. There are probably different versions of it. In any case, it looks like a unique color. Just noticed you're in ATL also - where?

Technically I have been in NYC for a job assignment but will be returning to ATL in a couple of months. I own a condo in Atlanta. |

I believe I have seen EVERY picture of Techno Violet, Daytona, Tourmaline, and Madeira available on the internet. I'm trying to narrow down all those pictures to the ones which best represent (and least represent so I can cross those off) Techno Violet. |

If I understand it correctly these Individual colors (like Techno Violet) are only available on M3's in the US and the cost is $5,000. Seems BMW NA's policy on this changes from time to time, so I could be wrong.
