My 335d came with an adapter in the trunk. So far, there has been no need for it. The adapter should only be useful if the pump nozzle is too large to fit the onboard receptacle.

My 335d came with the adaptor in the tool kit. It's under the flap on the right side of the trunk...where your screwdriver and lug adaptor is supposed to be.
And yes, it will work if the nozzel is to small but keep in mind, once you use it, it's covered in diesel and it has to go back in the trunk.

I see the screwdriver and lug adapter but thats it. If you guys could post a pic that would be really nice. I asked the dealer and they said there is no adaptor. :-)

My SA gave me an adapter, I thought it was for situations when the nozzle is too big (which I would guess would be at gas stations serving big rigs mainly). But I could be wrong. Haven't used it yet.
Speaking of diesel on the adapter, I try to avoid spilling diesel on my car, so I hold a paper towel under the nozzle when I remove it from the tank. This can result in getting diesel on my hands so I am thinking about using latex gloves.... |

Isn't that the bitch about diesel. All the commercial vehicles don't give a shit about spilling so the pumps are a mess.

You should not keep the lug adapter in the trunk (yes I am guilty of the same right now) for obvious reasons. But it should be in the car somewhere hidden well, haven't figured out yet where to put it. Another think that should be in the tool kit is a device for getting the Eurea door off, I think it is a suction cup used to turn the plug. Haven't tried that yet....

Absolutely the worst part of diesel ownership. You have to be extremely careful because just one drop and you're screwed until you scrub your hands. |

That's why I keep in the car a small bottle of Purell liquid sanitizer. Squirt a little on the palm of your hands and any smell of diesel is gone along with the germs.

The adaptor is in a round canister with a pair of rubber gloves.
I keep a container of Scrubs hand cleaner wipes in the trunk for the diesel pump. Each time I stop to fuel up, I pop the trunk first so I can get to the wipes...cleans my hands and any fuel that might drip on the car. I didn't get a tool to open the urea flap........
