e90 48k miles, major tire feathering scalloping
Hey guys,
I just stopped by a used car dealership to test drive an '06 e90 w/ sport package. Now, I've driven tires with 8"s of lift and knobby 35" mud terrain tires, and THAT was louder then driving this BMW. I was initially interested, but after driving that...holy cow.. Is this a common issue on the e90s? Also, 1st to 2nd gear shift felt like it was slightly grinding.. could synchros be worn out at this mileage? It appears to be a single owner vehicle according to carfax. Thanks |

Before I got mine I test drove a few and yes, some were quite loud. The loudest was a 325 that had BRAND new run flats on. The run flats are not known to be quiet.

Do you know what type of tires they were, and how new? As said above RFTs are not the quietest things in the world and only get worse with more miles. It's absolutely tire noise that you're hearing though, and changing them out for a quality set of non-RFTs would make a world of difference.
