Comfort Access - Does it work with Key FOB 02?
When I purchased my car (I have an 07 E93), I was given 2 key FOBs to use with the Car. I have always used 01 and I placed 02 in the drawer (key FOBs have same serial number: XXXXXXX-01 and XXXXXXX-02).
I have had some issues with a feature that Comfort Access has where it recalls of the seat memory settings when opening the door or unlocking the car, so I pulled the other key FOB (no. 2) to screw around with them. For some reason, my key FOB no.2 does not work with Comfort Access. I can unlock the car by pushing the buttons, etc, but Comfort Access does not appear to recognize the FOB. It won't even start the car unless I insert it in the little whole by the Start button. In other words, the second key FOB behaves as a standard key FOB. What gives? This does not seem normal to me. My expectations is that both key FOB's should work with Comfort Access. Can someone please tell me if there is anything wrong with my Comfort Access or the key FOB 02? It is not a battery issue. I put fresh batteries on both key FOB's. |

Both key fobs should work with CA if both are CA fobs. Perhaps your second fob is just a normal fob or it was never programmed correctly for some odd reason.
Look on the back of the fobs and verify that both fobs have a removable battery cover. If they both do, then I think the dealer needs to program the car to enable CA for that fob.

Both fobs should absolutely work with CA if you have it as an option. Definitely take it to the dealer to have them take a look at the second fob or reprogram it.

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, both key FOB's have removable battery covers. In fact, I put a fresh battery on the non-functioning FOB believing it was an issue with the battery. I wanted some validation from other forum members with CA, before I went to the dealer to complain. |

I'm having the same problem.
I bought my car new, but the dealership had misplaced the second key fob, so they ordered a replacement. When it came in, it worked fine except for comfort access. I ran across this older thread here ( http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22242 ) which suggests doing a battery reset on the car. Anyone tried that?
