Driving in the Rain
When I'm stopped with the wipers are on, I can feel the wiper movement through the brake pedal.
Is this common? It doesn't feel right. Since I had a bit of a crisis a few weeks back with the wiper motor dying on me at night during a rain storm I'm probably a bit paranoid. However, it's done this since I bought the car. Advice? Thx |

Isn't that odd? I have the same thing, when stopped, each time the wipers move I can feel something through the brake pedal. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has this. I've suspected that it has something to do with the automatic wipers, since they slow down when stopped, but I still don't understand why you would feel them through the brake pedal

The brake drying feature works by pulsating the brakes very quickly (kinda like ABS does, only it does it very lightly).. and can only work when the car is moving...
You should not feel the brakes pulsate when the car is stopped regardless of how hard the rain is coming down What you are experiencing is an electrical issue that should be fixed, it is not the brake drying feature |

I've honestly never noticed this in the E90, but will pay extra attention next time it rains hard.

Wanna get rid of the problem? Get Rain-X! You'll never need your wipers again Shit works so well.
...unless you're going under 40 mph. Then you do need your wipers Speed may vary depending upon how aerodynamic your car is. It's 40 for my mom's minivan But anyway, yes, this is totally a common problem. |

Mine is an E93 and it has the same thing! You can feel it in the brake pedal when the wipers are moving. I guess it is like that because the wiper motor is bolted on to the same part of the car as the brake pedal?
Anyway, it is annoying! |

I've never felt it before, and it was raining when I came back from service last week. I'll check it out next time, sounds weird, but let's face it, there are so many things that don't make sense about our cars yet are normal. I like the one where when you pull the door handle to get it, the car locks instead. Normal according to BMWNA. I just count to 3 and tell my self serenity now!
