Did I really phone home?

Received a voice mail from dealer saying they "received a signal" I was due for service (which I am)

Question is does the car really send a signal to dealer or are they just looking at their computer.

How does the car know which dealership to send the signal to? I mean I never go to the one which I bought it, but rather the dealership which provides the best service.

Look in your manual under "teleservice"

Yes, your car does send a signal to your dealer. If you have iDrive you can even find a screen that shows the date/time the call was made.

I don't think my 330i can do it since I don't have BMW Assist activated.

I'm pretty sure the call calls the original dealership that sold the car. I got a call from a dealer down south about taking my car in, but I live up North.

It calls whoever's listed as your home dealership with BMW Assist. If you've never changed it, then it's the one that activated your Assist account.

Isn't this a feature of BMW Assist?
