m3 e46 engine misfire hesitation

hi all: i was driving my m3 yesterday and after taking a sharp corner into a 30 mile drive the car started to misfire/hesitate in 6th gear. i dropped it down into fifth and it was fine for about a second or two before it happened again.

a few seconds later the check engine light came on and the car would accelerate very slowly with an audible misfire.

i started the car the next morning and it started right up with the check engine light on with a distinct misfire at idle.

my question is, what might be the problem, and does anyone know where i can take it for repairs in orange county, california, 92646?

My guess it it's the coils and will cost exactly $330 to fix...
